SyberWorks RSS Feeds (Really Simple Syndication)

What is RSS?

RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. RSS allows you to identify the content you like and have it delivered directly to you. RSS makes it easy for you to stay up-to-date, by showing you the very latest information in whatever subject or area that is important to you.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for distributing Web-based content such as news articles, newsletters, and original content. Using RSS, Web content providers can easily create and distribute feeds of information that include, for example, news links, headlines, and summaries. Sites such as Yahoo News, CNET, Search Engine Watch and many others use RSS to deliver content to a wide audience.

SyberWorks also now offers this free service. The Boggs e-Learning Chronicle written by our CEO, Dave Boggs, helps you stay current on trends, observations, and information in the e-Learning industry. SyberWorks News and Events helps you stay up-to-date on the latest happenings at SyberWorks. The SyberWorks e-Newsletter Feed lets you take advantage of all of the great tips and tricks of the trade offered by our monthly e-Newsletter.

How can I use RSS?

In order to use RSS, you need to use an RSS News Reader to subscribe to and view the content. There are many different versions of RSS News Readers available for you to download for free over the Internet. All allow you to display and subscribe to the RSS feeds you want.

Once you have chosen a news reader, you then decide what content you want, click on the XML Feed button to subscribe to that individual feed in a number of different ways, including by dragging the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.

There are many different varieties of RSS News Readers. Some RSS News Readers like Bloglines, NewsGator, and MyYahoo! are browser based. Some RSS News Readers like Newsfire and NetNewsWire work only for Mac OS X. Others like Newz Crawler, FeedDemon, and Awasu work only on Windows. There are also RSS News Readers that are email based.
