Announcer: The e-Learning Lingo Podcast.

Mary Kay Lofurno: Hello, this is Mary Kay Lofurno, marketing director here at SyberWorks, and welcome to the 87th episode of the e-Learning Lingo podcast series. Last week, Dave Powell talked about instant messaging. This week, Dave defines Bluetooth. So I ask you, do you know your e-Learning Lingo?

[theme music]

Mary Kay: OK Dave, so tell us about Bluetooth.

Dave Powell: Bluetooth is a type of wireless networking technology in which radio waves are used to send data and voice signals between electronic devices over short distances.

Mary Kay: Interesting. All right, tell us a little bit about how Bluetooth technology actually works.

Dave: Sure. Bluetooth uses a radio technology that breaks up the data that is being sent, and transmits it in small chunks. This modulation provides a way to transfer information between unlike mobile devices, such as cell phones, laptops, and GPS systems.

Mary Kay: Cool! Dave, have a great afternoon.

Dave: You too. Talk to you soon.

Mary Kay: This is Mary Kay Lofurno, marketing director at SyberWorks. Thanks for listening to Episode 87 of the e-Learning Lingo podcast. This week, Dave Powell talked about Bluetooth. The Episode 87 podcast audio and transcript will be posted on the e-Learning Lingo podcast blog.

Next time on the e-Learning Lingo podcast, we will talk about the term used in education and training. Until that time, have a great week.
