Last week, Dave Powell discussed “carousel brainstorming.” This week, Dave will talk about a term used in performance management, skill gap analysis. So I ask you, do you know your e-Learning Lingo?

Mary Kay: Hi, Dave. So explain skill gap analysis for us.

David Powell: Skill gap analysis is a method for preparing an individual's skills against those that are required to perform a job to which they have been or will be assigned. This analysis normally starts with a list of all required skills and assigns an individuals rating for each skill.
